Bill, Jacky and Baby bird

Continued from from page. That’s not to say we don’t appreciate the bush and desert, some of our favorite destinations are in these areas. The Nissan outlived our wallet. We now have a new vehicle, a VW Amarok. We have swapped the camper for a van, a new Sahara trailers hybrid. Sadly, our long-time companion of 16 years, Gazza the blue dog, has passed away. We now have a new boss, Baby the bird. We have created this site for our family, old and new friends. It is also for anyone interested in our story. They can follow where we go and what we get up to (well, not all we get up to). We took a big step, especially for Jackie; We sold our home at Mystic sands moved away from our friends of many years and are on the road full time. So many things that were familiar every day are no longer, mowing, checking the mail, gardening, although Jackie has found a replacement for a permanent garden. Time will tell how this works, we will see?
The environment is important to us, we both feel connected to the, trees, animals, water, and air, and we do our best to protect and preserve the part of the planet that we use. The ocean always attracts us, It always has done for me and Jackie is a beach girl from a long way back. We hope you enjoy our posts and information as we share on this site.
2024 has been interesting
Yes an interesting year, we caught up with old friends and family and visited places that we have talked about many times. At the time of writing this we are at Lake Tinaro on the Atherton Tableland, having just arrived here from a week in Cooktown, reflecting on our travels since Christmas 2023 here are some highlights, sad lights and no lights.
We start with no lights. For The First Three Months The New Van Was A Nightmare, Several Times We Had No Power Because The Manufacturer Could Not Fix The Charging System, We Eventually Paid To Have It Fixed By Professionals, There Were Other Issues But Maybe Later. A Place That Effected Both Of Us Was The Devastation Of Property And Lives That We Found When We Visited One Of Our Favourite Towns, Lismore In New South Wales, We Lived Near There For Some Time And Enjoyed The Laid Back Semi-Alternative Lifestyle Of This City, The Inaction And Prostration Of The NSW Government For So Long After The Major Flood Made Us Feel Sad And Angry
The photos above are of Lismore, we will go there again in 2025 to support the locals and enjoy the spirit of the town. There were so many highlights this year we loved the Southern bight and the people in South Australia and Victoria, Central New south wales was interesting we finished traveling with a trip to Old Cork station with our friends will be back there in 2025, we finished the long trek with friends Wendy and Glen Christensen traveling to Old Cork station and hope to do a few more miles with them soon. So if you like the posts subscribe we will be back on the road again January 2025, Peace to you all, and if you are traveling safe travels.
Mother nature .Fresh air is as good for the mind as for the body. Nature always seems trying to talk to us as if she had some great secret to tell. And so she has.” –John Lubbock
.Mother earth I feel very Passionately that we need to take care of the planet and everything on it. Whether it’s saving the Amazon or just being kind to those around you, we need to take care of each other and Mother Earth. Olivia Newton-John
Mother ocean.` Every time I slip into the ocean, it’s like going home.” Dive in the ocean, Leave and let the sea be you. The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea. In one drop of water are found all the secrets of all the oceans. Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air. Q ?????
